I was born and grew up in Idaho on a dairy farm. On the farm there was always plenty of work to do; that is the way it seemed to me. I learn how to feed the calves and do other chores around the dairy. When my dad and uncle got a hay bailer, I helped stack hay bails so they could be kept to feed the cow during the winter. It seems like I was doing that for many years to come. Not only did I do that when I was a teenager but after I was older. I got to help with most of the other work around the farm too. I helped with the irrigation of the fields. Don’t think I got out of milking the cows.

Finally, I grew up enough to go to college. I went to Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. I went on a mission for the LDS church to Brazil for two years. I came back and graduated from BYU. I didn’t stay away from the farm for long. Soon, I was back at it. I married my wife in 1972. We had five kids. I worked on the farm until I was about 44 years old when I had a heart attack. I went to school again and worked for some years until I was ready to retire. I was just about retired but on the last day that I was supposed to work at my job I had more heart problems and learned that I had diabetes too. That was when I was 66 years old. Now, I am 67 and retired. Now that I am feeling better, retirement is becoming more fun.
