Oak Creek Experiences
Delwyn W. Stander
We went to Oak Creek for two weeks
To play in those cold water creeks
Poison ivy was thick.
It became quite a trick
To not come back itching for weeks
We went to Oak Creek for some fun
For pleasure and fun in the sun
We sat in the yard
And it was not that hard
We had so much fun in the sun
We went up the trail every day
The reason we had was to play
But weight we would loose
By wearing old shoes
Through water and mud on the way
We stayed in the cabin at night
And played card games with our might
Sometimes we would read
Or do a good deed
Most always until past midnight
The trip there was made in our car
The longest trip we made by far
One night in Kanab
We’d sleep just a dab
Then stop at Glen Canyon, not far
